At the invitation of Sylain Chataigner (UGE), Mario Lucio Puppio, PhD, Eng.will illustrated to applicants several practical engineering problems addressed in the italian environment. 

Objectives
The approach is to joint scientific and practical applications with reference to the different approaches to problems in the two countries (France/Italy). 

This serves as the central theme of the seminars. The following issues are deal: Seismic retrofitting, brittle failure and reinforcement strategy, extreme weather events and GFRP reinforcements in RC structures. Each topic with an autonomous didactic modulus of two hours.

Descriptive

The course is divided into four two-hour modules, each featuring an interactive component and practical discussion of the case of studies with the students. The course can be organized either consecutively (two days) or spread out over four days. 
- Seismic retrofitting with esoskeltons (2h)
- Reinforcement of structures prone to brittle failure (2h)
- Behaviour and safety measures for short-span bridges exposed to extreme weather events (2h)
- Design and experimental testing of beams with GFRP reinforcement (2h)
